The Netherlands' prohibited item list
What are prohibited items, and why should you always be care to make sure not to send any in your parcels to the Netherlands?
Prohibited Items
Items that are prohibited cannot be transported in the carriers' vehicles and network. This includes items like weapons, drugs of any kind, hazardous goods, and explosives, as well as less apparent items such as batteries, perishable food, and liquids. The list of prohibited items varies by carrier and is quite extensive. To view the complete list, please click the button provided below.
Items protected for loss only
However, there is a list of items that can be sent through the courier network, but the carrier will not provide protection against damages, even if enhanced cover is chosen during booking. The carrier will only offer compensation in case of parcel loss. Examples of such items include antiques, fishing rods, and surfboards. To access the complete list, please click the "Prohibited Items List" button below.
No Protection items
Some items are allowed within the couriers’ networks, but can’t be protected against either damage or loss. Some examples of these types of items would include artwork, antiques, precious metals and stones, watches, and lots more.

Yes, commercial invoices are needed when sending packages to the Netherlands from the UK. Transit Times to the Netherlands?
When you are sending a parcel to the Netherlands, there are lots of couriers to choose from. Due to the proximity to the UK, transit times are generally as low as only 24 hours, meaning you can get a parcel to Amsterdam as quickly as you could to anywhere in the UK if you desperately need an urgent delivery.
A lot of parcels to the Netherlands will however be transported via a road service through the Eurotunnel or by ferry rather than air. This slower service is able to be offered cheaper to senders who don’t need the goods to arrive quickly and can wait for a few days or even weeks for goods to arrive at the destination.
It is important to make sure that you check how urgent your deliveries are before sending your parcels, as changing to faster services while in transit is generally not possible.
