What items are prohibited by the carriers, and why should you check before sending them to your receiver?
Prohibited Items
Prohibited items are goods that the carriers either are not allowed to transport, or have decided not to based on different factors. Obvious examples are: weapons, drugs, explosives. Other less obvious goods would include: batteries, perishable food, and liquids of any kind. Each carrier will have its own list and they can be quite long. Items protected for loss only
The carriers will sometimes allow certain goods to be sent through their network, but due to their fragile nature or awkward shapes for transit, they will only cover in the event of a lost parcel, but will not cover for damages while in transit, even if enhanced cover has been paid for. No Protection items
For some items, the carriers will not provide any cover, whether enhanced or standard, and these goods are shipped at the sender’s risk, without protection. Items include: Precious metals and stones, watches, ceramics, artwork, amongst others.

Are Commercial Invoices needed for Spain?
Yes, following Brexit, commercial invoices are needed for all parcels being sent from the UK to Spain. Delivered Duty Unpaid - The most common choice for shippers. This means that the receiver will need to pay all duties, taxes, and any associated fees when clearing the goods through customs.

Delivered Duty Paid - When you don’t want the receiver to have to pay anything during the customs clearance process, this option allows all charges to be reversed to the sender. It is important to make sure that the receiver is aware they will still need to participate in the customs clearance process. They will however not need to pay anything during thr process.

Transit Times to Spain?
All of the premium couriers have very similar transit times when sending parcels from the UK to Spain. The time in transit can be affected however by the distance the collection point is from each courier’s nearest collection depot, and if the receiver’s address is in an extended area for a particular courier.
Couriers begin their collection routes on the edges of their collection area and work back towards the end of the day as they return to the depot. If you are further away from a particular courier’s collection depot, the driver may have left your area for the day by the time you come to book in a parcel for collection. Likewise, if a courier has a stronger network in the destination country, their transit times will be shorter, as their capacity to get your goods to the destination point will be increased.

Getting your Parcel to the Spain Collected
Getting parcels collected using our system is easy. In most cases our system will automatically book collections with the couriers for you.
If you need a parcel collecting from another location in the UK other than your main collection address, our system will allow you to do this, and with no additional charges.
When it comes to heavyweight collections, (shipments over 68kg) our team can speak to the carrier for you to request that an appropriate sized vehicle is placed on your collection route. Please make sure to request this at least 24 hours prior to your intended collection date, as the courier needs this time to allocate a vehicle for the following day.
